IKEJA –  Airline passengers and others  scampered for safety following a fire outbreak at the arrival  hall of  Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
The fire was said to have been caused by an underground cable.
Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) fire personnel, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen that the fire started around 2 p.m.
He said that the fire was however put under control by the fire officers from FAAN.
He added that the fire might have been caused by an underground cable that needed replacement.
Another passenger, Mr Mayowa Olawale, said he was not happy with the officials of FAAN as they failed to address the passengers on the situation.
“We are just stranded here outside the arrival hall. This is unfair because as we speak, no official information has been communicated to us as to what is really happening,’’ he said.
