A boy Identified as Omanjie Marvis of no.22 Erhunse street in Oredo local Government Area ,whose whereabouts is unknown, has reportedly landed in trouble after he prematurely terminated the life of his pregnant girlfriend.
He is said to have been harbouring a girl name Josephine Odegwa,age 21 a native of Benin by tribe.
It was gathered that on the 5th of April 2015, a neighbor who happened to be a casual friend of Josephine Odegwa ( names withheld) noticed strange movement of the boy friend.
According to the source, she said that the deceased girlfriend had been living with the boy for almost a year and some months.
She further disclosed that the decased before her premature death had been complaining about having Malaria a week ago.
According to her, two days ago, they were both outside in the evening when she started throwing up as she immediately suspected it was pregnancy.
It was gathered upon interrogation, that her boyfriend asked her to keep the pregnancy.
The neigbhour said that on April 4th, she enquired about Josephine Odegwa but was told she was asleep by the boyfriend as she became uncomfortable with the attitude of her boyfriend thereafter.
It was said that she contacted the elder sister of the deceased, Sandra who came visiting and noticed the worsening health condition her sister was in and immediately raised an alarm which led to the boyfriend absconding.
Following the arrival of the police,the corpse of Josephine Odegwa was taken to the hospital for autopsy where it was confirmed that she died while trying to abort the baby on self medication pills.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police said that anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of Omanjie Marvis should please contact the nearest police station.
