AUCHI (Edo) – The people of Etsako West Local Government Area and its environs have been urged to come out enmasse on Saturday April 11, 2015 to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the House of Assembly election as the party has the best candidates for the Assembly Seats.
The Chairman, Etsako West local government Council, Prince (Barr.) Hassan Kadiri stated this in Auchi, headquarters of the local government area as part of his Easter message to the people in the locality.
He also urged the people to live in peace and harmony with one another and to emulate the shining example demonstrated by Jesus Christ by way of forgiveness.
According to him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ which called for the celebration of the Easter was a true reflection of the love of God for mankind, hence they should show such love to their neighbours, irrespective of party, religion and tribal affiliations
While appreciating the efforts of the people in the area for voting enmasse for the APC candidates in the last elections which cumulated in the overwhelming victory of the party in the entire Edo North Senatorial District, he however appealed to them to repeat same in Saturday’s election as winning the House of Assembly election is more important to every right thinking citizen of the state.
He said that as the party will take over the federal level comes May 29, 2015, there is need for the party to continue at the state level so as to enjoy the dividends of democracy under the leadership of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The council boss used the opportunity to call on the education of the electorate in other to avoid the huge number of voided votes being recorded during the presidential election saying that most people are still making the mistake of voting wrongly.
According to him, “there were a lot of voided ballot votes during the last elections which ought not to have been if proper education was given to the electorate by INEC before the election on how to vote,” he concluded.
The chairman however reiterated his uncommon commitment to complete all the ongoing projects in the local government area and to also fulfill his electioneering campaign promises before the end of his tenure as no project will be abandoned while appreciating the people for their understanding.
