OBAGIE NEVBUOSA (IKPOBA-OKHA) – Barely a week after the Presidential election, members of the two main opposition parties, the PDP and the APC are still flexing mussles following the killing of a member each.

It was gathered that barely 24 hours ago, some PDP loyalists were said to have stormed the Eriaria commmunity residence of one Owie Osaigbokan one of the followers of the late APC stalwart, Igie Ehigiator ostensibly for a reprisal attack.

On getting there and realising that Osaigbokan was not at home, the armed men were said to have set his younger, Owie Nowamagbe ablaze, but for the timely intervention of neighbours, he was rescued alive.

The assailants were said to have threatened to kill Osaigbokan and Osasu to revenge the killing of their loyal party man who they gave his name as Sunday Oviasu.

It would be recalled that on March 28, during the presidential election at Obagie Nevbuosa commmunity in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, a violence erupted in one of the polling units there following what a member of the PDP regarded as attempted malpractice and compromise by an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Displeased with action of the PDP member, a former Youth Chairman of Uhie commmunity and the APC coordinator in the area, the late Ehigiator was said to have entered his car, brought out a gun and shot dead, the PDP supporter.

The action was said to have triggered a mob action which resulted in the killing of Ehigiator, while those that accompanied him to the scene, including Owie Osasu and Owie Osaigbokan were said to have escaped after sustaining injuries.

As at press time, the Police authorities were yet to make any official statement on the matter.

However, a Senior Police Officer in the State Police headquarters said the Police authorities were already trailing those culpable in the violence and killings.
