Abonnema (Rivers) The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Council of Rivers State, Chief Fenibo Jack, has pledged the support of his people to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), and the incoming administration.
Jack told newsmen in Abonnema, headquarter of the council that Buhari’s election on March 28, was well-deserved.
The chairman urged the President-elect to look into the unresolved controversy over Soku oil Well, between Rivers and Bayelsa State.
“We appeal to you to look into the unresolved issue of Soku oil Well, which resulted in the ceding of the Well to Bayelsa.
“Soku is a community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers. We believe that the matter will be looked into and addressed.
“We assure you of our support and cooperation in the task of serving the masses,” he said.
The chairman also urged the people of the area to use the Easter celebration for sober reflection and prayers for peace.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ from death, it is time for sober reflection, sacrifice and steadfastness.
