BENIN CITY – The Police have launched a manhunt for one Mr Ehiaguina Francis,who escaped from a prison facility in Auchi on February 27, 2015.
Francis,who is a student of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi,was arrested by the Police on April 20,2014, while sleeping in his room at the hostel.He was taken into custody and shown photo for him to identify the person in it and he identify the person as his school mate.That was how the Police accused him of killing the son of the Village Head.
It was gathered that Francis and the friend he identified in the photo were accused of been members of a notorious secret cult, called the Mafite and they were taken into custody where they spend ten months.
It was further gathered that the lawyer defending Francis was pressurizing he to speak the truth about the killing or he will wash his hands off the case,as the Village Head has vow to put them in prison for the rest of their life.
It was learnt that Francis still insisted on his innocence as he did not have a hand in the killing.
When he saw the way the case was going and rumours was going around that he was going to be sentenced in the next hearing in court, Francis escaped from the prison, with the help of a guard
The whereabout of Ehiaguina Francis is unknown as he has fled to avoid persecution and imprisonment for a crime he did not commit
