Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge may not play again this season, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
The England forward has been hampered with hip and thigh injuries for much of the season and has not featured for the Reds since their FA Cup quarter-final win over Blackburn on April 8.
Liverpool boss Rodgers said: “We’ll see if he’s going to be back this season or pre-season.”
The Merseyside club have five remaining Premier League fixtures this season, and will look to qualify for the Champions league for the second season-running with a top-four finish.
However, Liverpool have struggled in front of goal this term and will hope that Sturridge is able to recover sufficiently as they attempt to close the seven-point gap on fourth-placed Manchester United.
