THIS month Environmental Sanitation Exercise held in Ovia North East Local Government Area yesterday without despite the non restriction of movement of persons.
As a result, the turnout of participants was low, as few persons were seen engaged in cleaning their premises while the local council’s Department of Environment Officials were busy supervising evacuation of refuse generated during the exercise.
Speaking on the exercise, the vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Dumez Ugiagbe who led the monitoring team commended the council chairman, Barr. Mrs. Lucy Omagbon, for providing the necessary resources to ensuring the council carried out its duties without any hindrance.
He urged the residents of the council area to ensure they keep their environment clean at all times, emphasizing that cleanliness is next to godliness.
