ZARIA (Kaduna State)  – The BBC Media Action in Nigeria, an organisation committed to the training of journalists, has donated radio production equipment to Queen FM Radio, Zaria, a sub-station of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
The equipment include IBT window 7 desktop, LCD monitor, Zoom HSN recorder, AKG microphone, USP and their accessories.
Presenting the items to KSMC management, the representative of the organisation’s Country Director, Mrs Funke Ashamu, said the donation was in furtherance of the partnership between the two institutions.
She said that the equipment would assist the station in the production of social programmes, particularly on health-related issues.
Receiving the items, the Manager of Queen FM, Alhaji Sabo Suleiman, lauded the efforts of the donor and appealed for a sustainable relationship.
He said that the staff of KSMC had benefited a lot from training workshops organised by the organisation in addition to the current workshop being held for the production staff of the radio station.
While conveying the appreciation of the KSMC management over the gesture, Suleiman pledged to make efficient use of the equipment.
The training programme for the radio station’s production staff is expected to last one week.
