BENIN CITY – The Edo State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barrister Macdonald Obasuke has ordered that the activities of the State Consumer Protection Committee across the state be put on hold.
In a chat with newsmen, in Benin City, the commissioner explained that the decision to suspend the operations of the consumer protection committee was sequel to the ongoing efforts to reposition the committee to make it more effective and functional in the discharge of its assignment.
He therefore advised the general public, particularly manufacturers and distributors of goods and services, as well as operators of sales outlets to refrain from carrying out any dealings with the members of the committee until further notice.
