As Nigerians awaits the coming of the new government to be led by the All Progressive Congress, APC, the democratic process in Nigeria has been described as evolving beyond the mere political structure of parties, to a synergy that is breeding young dynamic youths with enormous potentials.
The assertion was made in Benin, by Edo born comedian and Special Senior Assistant on Entertainment to the Edo state governor, Roland Igbedumhe, who added that the additions by State Governors of some youthful personalities into their administrative team have created boundless opportunities for Nigerian youth.
He said, “In view of this assertion one cannot fail to recognize the role ascribed to entertainers in our democratic process. Today Entertainers have really benefitted from the political structure.
For instance, the introduction of entertainers in some States of the Federation and Edo state in particular is a welcome development. It is on record today that Edo State Government led by comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomole and his deputy Dr Pius Odubu has employed and engaged the services of four entertainers, all presently serving as senior special Assistant to the Governor on the entertainment, Tourism and protocol duties.”
Roland Igbedumhe who goes by the stage name, Youngest old man, who spoke our correspondent admitted that he is overwhelmed by the opportunity given to them to serve in the comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomoleís Administration.
“ We have all agreed that it has been wonderful working closely with the Comrade Governor of Edo State. The opportunity given to us have been so beneficial to me, the call to service has helped to transform my personality and has given us the opportunity to become role models to youths around us.”
According to Youngest Oldman, thereís a great need to appreciate the founding fathers of the party of change Asiwaju Tinubu, (ACN), Ogbonnanya Onu, (ANPP), General Muhammadu Buhari, (CPC) Rabiu Kwankwaso/Rotimi Amaechi of the new PDP and the comrade Governor of Edo State Adams Oshomhole, whom he said gave him the opportunity for service.
He stated that there has never been any government in the history of Edo State that has empowered the youths in all capacity, like this present administration that has given the youths an opportunity to participate in governance.
“We do hope his new political change will improve on the standard and opportunities available for entertainers and also create a means to reduce the unemployment rate among the youths. In view of the positions given to entertainers in the Edo State, other States should emulate this development, because many young artistes and other professionals are hoping to leverage on this development to project their potentials when the means comes for service.”
