BENIN CITY- The Edo State House of Assembly has passed the Ambrose Ali University Amendment Law which  stipulates a five-year single term for the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution.
The passage of the Law was sequel  to the consideration of the report of the House standing committee on Education on the bill for a Law to amend the Ambrose Alli University  Ekpoma, Law 1991, earlier presented by the House Chairman Education Hon. Foly Ogedengbe.
The House at, the Committee of the whole amended the principal law establishing the institution which stipulates a two term of four years each which states that “The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a period of five years single term and subject to such terms and condition as specified in the instrument of employment”.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Uyi Igbe in his  submission directed that clean copies of the Ambrose Ali University amendment Law be forwarded to the  Governor for his ascent.  Also during plenary yesterday, a bill for a law to make provisions for the establishment of Edo State College of Agricultural Technology, Agenebode scaled second reading.
