Lagos – The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Oluwafunmilayo Atilade, has stepped into a case of illegal possession of fire arms after a magistrate complained of threat to her life.
Atilade, took over the case file of Sulaiman Sanusi, 48, and Kehinde Sanusi, 39, who are standing trial for alleged illegal possession of fire arms and disrespect to a court order.
The Chief Judge stepped into the matter after Magistrate Adeola Adedayo of the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, who was handling the case, raised the alarm over threat to her life.
Adedayo, had on April 13, during the court proceedings on the charge against the two brothers, alleged that the case exposed her life to danger.
She alleged that the two defendants had written petitions to her stating that they knew where she lived and the people who visited her.
Adedayo, had on April 13, said that: “I feel very threatened; let the world know whom to hold responsible if anything happens to me or any member of my family.
“I don’t know why defendants should know my house; my life is at risk against people alleged to be in possession of fire arms.
“They wrote petitions to threaten my life by analysing my marital status, my family background and where I live.
“They wrote about who I live with and how I move in and move out every day”.
