BENIN CITY – The Edo House of Assembly has summoned the state Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) over the rainstorm disaster that occurred in some parts of the state.
The speaker, Uyi Igbe who announced the summon during plenary said they were to explain their level of preparedness in tackling the rainstorm disasters in the state.
The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development was also summoned.
According to Igbe, “the rains are here and we have had rainstorm disasters across the state. We want to know how prepared you are to handle the challenges.
Also at plenary, the house received a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Primary Health Development Agency from the state governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for consideration and passage.
Meanwhile, the house has passed a bill for law to amend the Edo State University of Science and Technology, Iyamo, Uzairue.
