Abuja – The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has called on Nigerians to pray for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari and leaders at all levels of government from the president to the last person in line of authority.
A statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs Turaki Hassan in Abuja yesterday, said Dogara made the appeal during church service at Living Faith Church, Durumi, Abuja.
The Speaker said the challenges confronting the present crop of leaders in the country are not ordinary and that it requires extra-ordinary prayers to over come.
Dogara said: “I want to plead that because the problems we have now in the country now are not conventional. And so conventional wisdom cannot solve them. We need divine wisodm.”
According to him, “without prayers there is no way we can succeed.
“So I urge that we offer prayers and supplication be offered for all the leaders begining from the President to the least person in authority.”
He said prayers are needed for leaders ” so that we can embrace this wisdom that comes from God and apply those tools that we can passion out by means of this wisdom in bringing solution to the problems that are no longer conventional.
Now to Him who is immortal, invincible eternal, the only one God be honour and glory forever and ever.”
In his sermon Pastor John Adelekun who read scriptures from the book of Matthew 6:33, Malachi 3:l7, Ephisians 6:18 among other verses called on the worshippers to serve God and tap into His blessings.
Pastor Adelekun said those who serve God don´t beg to be lifted and that they are doing themselves favour when they serve God
