BENIN CITY – A Political Analyst and Public Commentator, Elder Macaulay Ovienria has lambasted the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih over his recent allegations that the Comrade Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has deducted about N200 billion from the Local Government account.
In a press release issued yesterday in Benin a copy of which was given to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER, Elder Ovienria described Orbih’s allegation as “not only false, but embarrassing and condemnable.”
The APC Chieftain noted that this was not the first time Dan Orbih would be making such spurious, reckless and unfounded allegations against the Comrade Governor but has done series of such in the past and remarked that he could embark on constructive and meaningful criticism against the state government and still achieve results for his Abuja paymasters.
“He cannot achieve any meaningful result by his ungentlemanly criticism because the Edo people are too wise and understanding.  Edo people can see and hear; they see what the Comrade Governor has done and is still doing.  They can appreciate;   they know who are their friends and those who are pretenders,” Elder Macaulay Ovienria said.
While flaying Dan Orbih’s allegations, Ovienria said  ALGON members who he was trying to defend were quick to exonerate the Comrade Governor and accused him for feeding the public with falsehood and advised the Edo PDP Chairman to learn how to crosscheck his information first before rushing to the press.
“The state belongs to us all, we should not pull it down or destroy it, rather we should hold it dear to our heart so that we can continue to get the ‘goods and benefits’ out of it to ourselves, and our children”, Elder Ovienria advised.
