Bendel Insurance football club of Benin yesterday thrashed visiting Nembe City of Yenagoa  3-0 in the week -6 of the Nigerian National League (NNL) match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The goals came in the second half of the pulsating encounter after a barren first 45 minutes through Efe Enabunele. Spotting number 9 jersey, Austin Ogbuye , and Itsewuma Stephen.
Efe Enabunele who won Man of the Match award following his consistent pressure his moves mounted on the visitors’ defence which had stood firmly before it finally caved in to the sustained attacks from the Insurers strikers.
The Insurance had at the blast of the whistle dominated play but missed several scoring chances before the centre referee called the half time. On resumption of hostility, the insurance took the game to their opponent’s goal area gaining the three maximum points at the blast of the final whistle.
The Benin City side which will taking on Akwa Starlets in the week Seven of the NNL  has got seven points from six games winning two, drew one and lost two.
The Victor Baribote managed visiting side  gave a good account of themselves frustrating deft moves by the insurance making the crowd and Insurance supporters to sit on the edge of their seats.
The commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon Priestly Ediagbonya and several other dignitaries including the Majority Leader Edo state House of Assembly Hon Folly Ogedembge were on hand to cheer the Insurers to the deserved victory.
