AGBOR – Brigadier-General Anthony Ihenyen has emerged the new Grand President, Benin Grand Commandery, Knights of St. John International.
He took over from Brigadier-General Joseph Ojobu after an election conducted on May 30, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Agbor-Ime Obi, Agbor.
He was then immediately sworn-in by the immediate past Grand President, Brigadier-General Joseph Ojobu, with over 25 local commanderies and 118 delegates participating in the electoral exercise.
The election had in attendance observers from the Supreme Subordinate Commandery Nigeria and they include Brigadier-Generals Eka, Chidi Arinze, Nnabuife and Emenalo.
Speaking after his inauguration, Brig. Gen. Ihenyen thanked God for the successful election and promised to carry everybody along.
Other elected officers include First Vice-Grand President Col. Christ Omambalo; 2nd Vice-Grand President, Col. Bona Adogamhe; Grand Secretary, Col. Donatus Igboin and Grand Treasurer, Sir Jiff Mukobia.
Others are Grand Financial Secretary, Sir Mike Bobolo, Grand Sgt at-arm, Sir Christ Ahweyevu and Grand Messenger, Sir Peter Erhurhu as well as five Trustees headed by Sir Julius Imhanwa as 1st trustee.
Meanwhile, the Grand President, Benin Grand Commandery, Brig. Gen. Anthony Ihenyen has appointed grand officers to assist him in achieving his goal during his tenure.
During the swearing in of the appointed officers, he vowed to carry the Benin Grand Commandery to the next level.
Among the appointed officers installed are Sir Bright Omokhodion as Judge Advocate, Sir Odjerigho as Inner Guard, Sir Solomon Imohiosen, Grand Publicity Secretary (Edo) and Sir Joseph Evuarherhe, Grand Publicity Secretary (Delta), among others.
