BENIN CITY- The Edo State Head of Service, Mr. Igbakemen Jerry Obazele has given Kudos to the Comrade Governor for his eagerness’ to develop the capacity of the civil servant.
Mr. Igbaekmen Jerry Obazele gave this commendation when he played host to members of the National productivity Centre who paid a courtesy call on him in Government House.
The Head of Service credited the Comrade Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole for his determination to improve the skills of the work force by regularly and constantly organizing workshops and seminars for them.
On his part, Mr. Obazele reiterated his earlier dream of presiding over a work force that is capable of service delivery in every circumstance.
He hinted that the participation of Edo State last year in the National Productivity Day Celebration is a pointer to that dream and thanked the Governor who acceded to his request to join the celebration.
Responding to the request made, the Head of Service stated that the Modern day public sector’s responsibility is hinged on bringing development to the citizen.
He assured that the state government is ever willing to partner with public sectororganisationlike ASCON in the development and training of its workforce. He further assured that the state government will explore the possibility of having the National productivity Centre train the state workers.
Speaking on the forth coming 2015 National Productivity Day Celebration scheduled for August,  Mr. Obazele pledge the state government’s full participation.
He announced that the various ministries parastatals and agencies of government have nominated further that the ministry of Establishment and Special Duties is already working hard to ensure  the success of the celebration.
The Director, Natural Production centre in charge of Edo, Ekiti and Ogun State  Mr. Olumuyiwa Thomas who was accompanied by other officers, informed the head of Service of the preparation of the 2015 National Productivity Day Celebration.
He praised the Edo State government for her active participation in the 2014 edition. He requested the state HOS to enlist the body in the training of staff.
He presented some write-up of the organization to the head of service.
With the Head of Service were Mr. E. T. Idahosa, Permanent Secretary, office of the HOS, Mr. Eddy  Edionwemen, Director, Mr. Sam Okpeaye, PRO Mrs. Mercy Uwaifokun, DFA, Mr. Ernest Ohunyon  and Mercy Philips.
