BENIN CITY – Edo State Government has solicited for more support and prayers to enable it continue to meet the people’s needs and aspirations.
The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Egberanmwan Odubu made the request when he received the Chairman and members of Edo State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board on behalf of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Dr. Odubu who urged the Board members to be prayerful for the state and those in power assured that the state government would continue to do its best for the people.
He expressed joy that none of the state’s pilgrims to Rome and Israel absconded during the last journey to the holyland, a situation he attributed to the men and women of integrity that make up the board.
The chairman of the Board, Rev. Peter Imasuen said the governor’s support and encouragement made the pilgrimage of November last year a success.
He, however appealed for the approval of a medical doctor to accompany them on this year’s edition of the exercise.
Rev. Imasuen also requested the governor to go with them on the next pilgrimage in order to further commit the state to God’s hands.
