BENIN CITY – His Royal Highness, Crown Prince (Amb.) Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’Uselu, has on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba of Benin, the Benin Royal family and the entire Edo people congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and  Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,  Vice President on their successful swearing-in as President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Friday, 29th May, 2015.
This was made known in  a release signed by the secretary of the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor and made available to THE NIGERIAN OBSERVER. The release states further that it is gratifying to His Royal Highness that notable personalities from all walks of life and a number of Heads of State and governments totaling 50 or more, graced the presidential  Inauguration ceremony of Mr. President and his Vice President. “This is an indication of acceptability and support of the international community.
“The action of the former president Goodluck Jonathan in not only conceding defeat but conceding it early before all the result were announced is commendable and, in no small measure contributed immensely to ensure the unity of Nigeria”.
“The former President demonstrated  an attribute of statesmanship which should be emulated by all those who seek political positions, by placing the national interest first. His Royal Highness joins all other well-meaning Nigerians who share this view in expressing  deep appreciation to the former President, and that Nigerians now have another opportunity to GO ON WITH ONE NIGERIA (GOWON).
His Royal Highness also commends and sends his warmest felicitation to our illustrious son, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) for his steadfastness and campaign strategy in ensuring that his party came out victorious at the just concluded elections and the subsequent Presidential swearing-in ceremony of Mr. President and his Vice President.
The Oba expressed gratitude  to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); the Muslim group, the Royal fathers and the adherents of African Traditional Religion and all those that have been praying ceaselessly for peace and unity in Nigeria. His Royal Highness commends members of the fourth estate of the realm for demonstrating matured journalism, particularly Channel Television for being so impartial in its telecast throughout the critical campaign and election period. His Royal Highness appreciates the Chairman of Channel Television and his team that they deserve federal, state as well as royal recognition.
His Royal Highness also thanked His  Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Mni, CON, Governor of Edo State for his accommodating spirit and, appeals to him to forgive those that may have offended him during this past political campaign and bring all well-meaning Edo people together in order to maximize their potential to move the state forward for peace, tranquility and social-economic progress.
