Chairman, Ovia North East Local Government Council, Barr. Mrs. Lucy Omagbon has again warned residents around Oluku area of the Benin-Lagos express way to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse by the road side.
The supervisor for Environment Hon. Balogun, Ohiwere who spoke on behalf of the council boss, gave the warning while speaking with journalists on this month environmental sanitation exercise in the council area.
Hon. Balogun who led the council’s supervision team during the sanitation exercise also expressed hope that the misunderstanding between the striking Edo Judiciary Workers and government would be resolved soon so that mobile court will be back to enable the council’s monitoring team to properly carry out enforcement.
Meanwhile, the level of compliance by residents in many parts of the locality was good enough as some residents were seen engaged in various cleaning exercise around their premises and business sheds.
The Council’s Department of Environment Officials as usual were on ground to supervise the evacuation of refuse at different locations.
