Edo State Government has directed authorities of the Ambrose Alli University, (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State to name the street leading to the
university hostel after the president and founder of Believers’ Loved World, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
The state governor who was represented by the state commissioner for Higher and Tertiary Education, Barr. Washington Osifo, gave the
directive at a Special Convocation Ceremony organized by the AAU to confer honorary doctorate degree on the LoveWorld president.
The special convocation was graced by every important dignitaries, including the governor of Ebonyi, Mr Dave Umahi, Deputy Governor of
Delta State, Mr kingsley Otuaro, former governor of Anambra State and first female governor in  Nigeria, Dame Virginia Etiaba, and Prof
Jerry Gana.
The street which will henceforth be known as LoveWorld Way, was provided with Solar Street Lights by Pastor Chris, an alumnus of the
university, and was commissioned during the event.
Governor Oshiomhole appreciated efforts the popular pastor, describing him as a moral builder, and enjoined other alumni to emulate him.
Oyakhilome last year built a 600 capacity hall for the AAU and also donated thousands of solar powered lamps fitted with radio and
charging point for mobile phones to all the students resident in the school hostel.
He equally constructed solar powered street lights to light up the hostels and streets leading to hostel.
The Chairman Governing Council AAU, Prof Greg Akensuwa while eulogizing cleri, said the university was honouring him, not just
because he is a benefactor of the school, but because of  the impact he has created world wide.
He lauded the cleric for contributing to the development of Infrastructure in his Alma Mata and support for humanity through his
church work.
The vice-chancellor, Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku described Pastor Oyakhilome as a rare, special and unbeatable gem, and rare gift to
humanity.
In his response at the ceremony which was also attended his mother, Oyakhilome said he had rejected several awards in the past, but chose
to accept that of AAU because of his special attachment to the school.
He urged other alumni of the school to give back to school as he pledged more support in future.
