ABUJA – Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has expressed confidence on the ability of senator Barr. Francis Alimikhena, the senator representing Edo North Senatorial district to perform, saying the senator’s victory is designed by God.
Comrade Oshiomhole in his remarks at a dinner party organized in Abuja in honour of the Senator by the committee of friends, assured Edo North people that they have a senator who will represent the district well in the upper chamber.
He described Alimikhena as a fearless leader with vision, character, integrity and a dogged fighter who would always represent the interest of his people any time the opportunity calls.
Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki in his remarks described the Senator as a dependable and reliable senator whose wisdom and experience would help move the 8th senate to an enviable height.
He also assured the people of Edo North and the state in general of speedy development as he acknowledged the pedigree of Senator Alimikhena.
Also speaking at the event, a human right activist and a constitutional lawyer, Barrister Mike Ozekhome (SAN) described Senator Alimikhena as a listening and humble personality who can single handedly bear the burden that seem difficult for others or government to handle.
He said the selfless senator has built schools, hospital, and churches, provided water boreholes and attracted several other development to his people even before he became active in politics.
On his part, a former governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru and chairman of the committee of friends, Barrister Iyama assured the gathering that Senator Alimikhena would help to reposition the nation through effective legislation at the senate
He added that “this is the time to engage the youths and open doors of opportunities for them in a bid to restore prosperity and empower the less fortunate.”
The chief celebrant, Senator Alimikhena in his response, thanked the people for finding him worthy of the honour and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the people.
He reassured the people of the district of his readiness to serve and make impact and contribute to the development of Edo North senatorial district, as equal opportunity would be given in the distribution of dividend of democracy.
“I will not disappoint you. I will not let Edo North down”, he said.
