BENIN CITY – Edo State Government has put in place measures  to reclaim and protect all State Government’s Land encroached upon throughout the State.
Hon. Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Hon. Joseph Ayebeni Ugheoke (JP) made this known in Benin City when he received in audience the Elders, Chairman and Youths of Ogba Community  Development Association who were accompanied by their Lawyer, Barrister Michael Ekwenuka.
The Lands and Survey Commissioner told his visitors that the meeting was called   to inform them of Government’s displeasure about the encroachment of the Ogba Zoo land which is Edo State Government’s acquisition.
He further added that the State Government was ready to resolve all   matters relative to encroachment within shortest possible time hence, the interaction with the Community so that amicable solution to be found for the problem.
Hon. Joseph Ayebeni Ugheoke (JP) then appealed to Elders; Chairman, Youths and members of the Community as well as Utagbean Community to shift ground and allow the Zoo to flourish as envisaged by Government when it established the zoo.
The Hon. Commissioner then used the opportunity to warn the Community against selling any Government acquisition located within Ogba Zoo land and that if there are claims by the Community, such should be submitted to the Ministry so that the appropriate action can be taken thereafter.
In   his remark, the Ogba Community Development Association Lawyer, Barr. Michael Ekwenuka who spoke on behalf of the Community thanked the Hon. Commissioner for the meeting and the intervention and hoped that amicable solution to  the problem would be achieved.
He also added that the Community will submit the proof for the portion of land within Ogba Zoo to the Ministry for it to go through before the naxt meeting
