POLITICIANS and political office holders have been advised to always live a life worthy of emulation like Nelson Mandela, mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr. irrespective of years they may spend on earth and in the office so as to have their names in the minds of the people.
Acting Chairman Etsako West Local Government Area, Hon Busari Omoneme gave the advice at the 40 days celebration of the former chairman of the council late Hon Barr Hassan Kadiri at Ikelebe public field Auchi, the administrative headquarters of the local government.
Hon Busari said though the late chairman’s life may be short in our eyes, but he was able to live a life worthy of emulation and left a legacy that would be remembered for in years to come
He said late Kadiri left a legacy of progressive democracy helping to plant one message in all Nigerians that they naturally have an inclusive sprit and the will to eschew ethnic warfare in favour of a united vision for the country as seen during this past election.
“Another important legacy left behind by the late chairman was legacy of shared sacrifice experience and endured political pains together to ensure that the party APC emerged victorious in all the elections in the local government, and using a learned nationalistic mindset to steadily set the stage toward a slow but steady onward march towards a democratized society for the benefit of the people”.
According to him, “the legacies left behind by the late chairman will be sustained and built upon by the council.”
He said late chairman was one man who believes in a course and fought for it even when it means being  alone adding that his death has created a big vacuum in not only the local government but the entire Edo North and the state as he was a trusted and dependable politician.
On his part, Senator Francis Alimikhena, member representing Edo North Senatorial district described the late chairman as a man of many parts who will be missed greatly by politicians
He said the short periods the late chairman was in position he was able to touch the lives of many positively urging others to emulate his life style.
