Akure – Sunshine Stars FC of Akure on Sunday remained at the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League , after defeating FC Taraba 2-1 in the week 19 match played in Akure.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tunde Adeniji cancelled Stephen Adams of FC Taraba’s early scare in the 12th minute at the Akure Township Stadium.
Adeniji scored in the 44th and 52nd minutes of the match and continued to trouble the defense line of the visitors.
However, the league’s highest goal scorer at the end of the first stanza with 10 goals was taken out on a stretcher in the dying minutes of the match due to injury..
