BENIN CITY – The Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has commended the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area, Hon. Suleiman Afegbua on his effort towards ensuring the up-to-date payment of workers salaries in the council.
Others also commended by the Comrade Governor included, Hon. Jimoh Ijiegbai and Hon. Joseph Ikpea, Owan East and Esan South East Local Government Councils respectively.
In a letter of commendation signed by the Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG), Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, the governor attributed the chairmen’s effort for meeting workers’ salaries, regularly and as at when due to the prudent management of their council’s resources.
Governor Oshiomhole further expressed appreciation over the council’s bosses effort towards meeting their statutory obligation to workers welfare, especially at a time some of their counterparts could not fulfill their five to nine months salary arrears owed their workers.
He declared that such phenomenal record, no doubt, will further rekindle the peoples’ confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While commending Hon. Suleiman Afegbua for executing quality jobs in the locality, the governor described it as eloquent testimonies’ of efficient management of human/material resources.
The letter reads in part, “your vision, masterly deployment of revenue, sensitivity to the yearning of your staff and entire people of your local government have in no small measure helped build confidence in governance and in our party the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Estako East Council boss, Hon. Suleiman Afegbua, however, thanked the state governor for his initiative towards creating the enabling environment/positive leadership that guaranteed people’s oriented driven governance.
He said he derived inspiration from the Comrade governor, Hon. Suleiman, and noted that the commendation has further justified 2014/2015 awards bestowed on him as the best performing local government chairman, just as he promised to continue to do more for his people.
