BENIN CITY – Six persons, including a native Doctor alleged to have been plotting assassination of one Etinosa Ighodalo of Iowa community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, have been apprehended by operatives of zone 5’ Police Headquarters in Benin City
Also arrested by the Zonal operatives is one Stephen Enakhare Oshoma alleged to be a notorious fraudster who specialized in forging corporate institutions documents, such as University Degree Certificates, School Certificates, driver’s licence, banks Statement of account, among others.
Parading the seven suspects before journalists in Benin City, weekend, the Public Relations Officer, zone 5’ Headquarters, ASP Emeka Iheanacho said their arrest followed a tip-off.
“ On the 4th July 2015, the Zonal Operatives arrested Osahon Iserhienhien ‘m’, Monday Idele ‘m’; Uhunoma Idele, Iyabor Iyamu, Odion Omwanghe and Augustine Igbinovia for conspiring among themselves to assassinate one Etinosa Ighodalo ‘m’ of Iyowa community in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State.
“The assassins were to carry out the assignment on the 4th of July, 2015 when the Zonal Operatives got wind of it and arrested Monday Idele and Uhunoma Idele, whose statements helped in the arrest of the principal suspect Osahon Iserienrhien, Iyobor Iyamu, Odion Omwanghe and Augustine Igbinovia,” ASP Iheanacho stated.
He added that some of the suspects were apprehended at the Native Doctor’s Shrine where they were seeking for voodoo and spiritual protection.
ASP Iheanacho however explained that the remote cause of the sinister plan was power tussle between Mr. Etinosa Ighodalo and the principal suspect, Osahon Iserhienhien over local politics of who becomes the Youth Chairman of Iyowa Community.
He disclosed that items recover from the shrine included a list containing names of Etinosa Ighodalo and nine others marked for murder by the suspects.
The suspects denied any assassination plot as the list was drowned to ensure peace among them in the community.
The native doctor, Osahon Iserhienrhien however alleged that the suspects gave him the list for sinister motive, which he declined.
The Zonal Public Relations Officer also explained that blank Ambrose Alli University Degree Certificates, forged National Diploma of Auchi Polytechnic; NCE Certificates of College of Education, Ekiadolor, Edo State; set of computes, stamp pads of various tertiary institutions; banks and corporate institutions within Edo State were recovered from Stephen Enakhare Oshoma.
