BENIN CITY-The newly installed President of  Rotary Club of Benin Metropolitan, Rotarian  Donald Omorogbe has promised to build on the membership strength of the club  through innovations.
The president stated this in Benin City during his installation as the 10th President of the club.
Rtn Omorogbe while soliciting for the support of members for the Rotary year. 2015/16 thanked his predecessor,  Rtn Martin Eboigbe for the enormous sacrifices of his time, talent and treasure, adding that he left the club stronger than he met it.
According to Omoregbe, Rotary Club is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and as well  help build goodwill and peace in the world.
“Rotary brings together community leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations to share their ideas for making the world a better place”.
He stated that as Rotarians the in 2015/16 Rotary year, they have been challenged to be a ‘gift to the world’, adding that giving is not an exclusive right of the rich, but it is for the living
Rtn Omorogbe said he is proud to belong to the world’s two most organized organizations: that  the Catholic family and the Rotary club which affirms the truth of what he has always believed in through  service which make the world not poorer, but richer.
In her address, Chairperson of the installation committee, Rtn Caroline Iyamabo (PHF) commended members of Benin Metropolitan for their immense contributions to humanity, saying it is the tenet of the Rotary Club which stands for everything that is true, fair, and beneficial to all concerned.
The  outgoing President, Rtn Martin Eboigbe thanked all members for the opportunity and support given to him for the last one year.
Rtn Eboigbe however enumerated some of the laudable projects rendered by the club for the outgoing year to include, individual member’s donation of blood through the National Blood Transfusion Service for Sickle Cell patients; provision of literacy materials to  inmates of Benin Prisons as well as free medical test and counseling for diabetes patients on basic health care.
According to him, owing to the quality service of projects rendered for the year, the club emerged as the best in zone 15 for 2014/15 Rotary years where a gold cup was given to that effect.
High point of the installation ceremony was award presentations to some deserving individuals, including  HRH Orobosa Agbongiazowe, the Enogie of Isievbe community; Very Rev. Fr. Paul Enow, Parish Priest of St. Paul’s  Catholic Church; Hon Henry Duke Tenebe; Prof. Akerele John  Dr. Ralph Edopia, associate Prof. UNIBEN; Engr. Eghomere Sunday,  Permanent  Secretary.  Ministry of Water Resources & Energy Edo state; Mr. Christopher Aligba and Deacon Innocent Eze.
