FUGAR – Etsako Central Local Government of Edo State has put machinery in motion to reposition the council towards the governorship election in the state slated for the second quarter of 2016.
As part of its efforts to restrategise ahead of the election and other elections in the state, the leadership of the local government last week enlarged the Elders’ Forum with the inauguration of a 14-man committee whose membership cuts across the 10 wards in the council.
At the inauguration, central leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the local government, Chief Brai Aloye said the members were carefully selected to assist the leaders in the running of the party’s affairs in the council, adding that they are expected to bring to table their individual knowledge and experiences.
Three other leaders, representing the three zones in the council, JET Oshiomhole (zone one), Sir Waziri Oshiomha (zone two) and A. Z Naboya (zone Three) have been running affairs of the party in the local government with the central leader, Aloye.
Aloye charged the new leaders to always spare time for meetings and other assignments in the council whenever they are called upon, adding that the interest of the party and indeed the local government should be of utmost concern to them at all times.
He however cautioned that the leaders’ forum is not a parallel government in the council and should not be seen as such, adding that the role is only advisory and complimentary to the local government administration headed by Emmanuel Momoh.
Aloye said in line with the philosophy of the APC as a gender friendly party, four of the 14 new leaders are women whose loyalty and contributions to the development of the party in the council and the state are unassailable.
The newly inaugurated leaders are: Prince Steve Alao, JP (ward one), Comrade
John Akhigbe (Ward Two), Sir Fidelis Omoera, (ward three), Chief Evelyn Igbafe,
Barr (Mrs,) Rose Felicia Idode and Raphael Aloaye Edogarnhe ( ward four).
Others are Comrade Ebomhiana Musa (ward five), Engr Tokhokho Umoru & Mrs. Regina Ogbiefor (ward six), Chief Dick Ojio (ward seven), Barr Alex Irotumhe (Ward eight), Chief M.B Morgan and Princes Teresa (ward nine), as well as  Chief A.
