Benin City – Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has once again identified need for collective effort to ensure security in Nigeria.
He noted “The current development in the country particularly as manifested by Boko Haram has humbled everybody. It has drawn attention to the primacy of security. We appreciate the role of security and are determined to provide security.”
He made the remarks when the immediate past commissioner of Police, Samuel Adegbuyi led his successor, Chris Ezike to Government House, Benin City yesterday.
“The rich, the poor, political elites and the ordinary Nigeria. We are all now unanimous that security is for everybody. Even the poverty of the treasury is not an excuse not to provide security. That is why at every level of government, we are determined to make our contribution,” the governor said adding that “the dollar is a coward, it does not go to countries where investment is not safe. Even our privileged sons and daughters don’t want to come to a war zone.”
He explained that the state government would partner the Nigeria Police and other security agencies.
