BENIN CITY- Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Pius Egberanmwen Odubu has commended the Nigerian Army for partnering with the state government in its quest to check kidnapping, armed robbery and other crimes in the state.
Dr. Pius Odubu stated this in a goodwill message on behalf of Governor Adams Oshiomhole at the 17th  Combat Service Support training Week at Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.
Apart from his commendation of the Nigerian Army’s Partnership with the state government, Dr. Pius Odubu said the excellent job being done in the North East has to a large extent, curtailed the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents and restored a high level of normalcy in the region.
The deputy governor remarked that the theme of the training week, “The Nigerian Army Combat Service Support Corps and Effective Service Delivery:  Asymmetric Warfare in Perspective” couldn’t have come at a better time than now when the country faces the menace of insurgency and other forms of criminalities.
Dr. Odubu told the Nigerian Army that the role of the Combat Service Support Corps in the provision of materials, supply chain management, maintenance, transportation, health services and other logistic activities is critical to accomplishing the mission of flushing Boko Haram from Nigeria by the air and ground troops.
The representative of the Chief of Army staff, Corps Commander of Infantry Corps Centre, Major Gen. Sanisu Muazu said the armed forces of Nigeria must be   professionally transformed to win back the confidence of the citizenry.
He appreciated Governor Oshiomhole for the cordial relationship between the military and the people of Edo State.
After the presentation of a plaque to the governor, the deputy governor flanked by the Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Aliruh Momoh Ikelebe III and other personalities was conducted round various stands displaying modern military hardware.
