UYINMWENDIN – Five persons including the out-going youth Chairman of Uyinmwendin Community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area are now in police net over an alleged plot to unleash terror on residents of the locality.
One cut-to-size single barrel gun and three live cartridges were allegedly recovered from one of the hoodlums hired to carry out the attack.

The spokesman, Edo Police Command DSP Stephen Onwochei stated that the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), police headquarters, Benin City.
“The youth leadership of that village was dissolved, that group felt uncomfortable and they resorted to conducting themselves in the manner that was likely to cause breach of peace.
“The other group went and reported at a police station, in the process five of them were arrested and when they were searched, one cut-to-size gun and a cutlass were recovered”. The police spokesman disclosed.
DSP Onwochei however advised aggrieved members of the public to always seek legitimate means of redress.
Our reporter gathered that some armed thugs had invaded Uyinmwendin community with a view to unleashing mayhem and taking over leadership of the community, last Tuesday.
Pa Arthur Osemwengie Aghaku, the CDA chairman alleged that the out-going youth Chairman one Julius Idemudia masterminded the botched attack on the community.
He stated that the said Julius Idemudia was using all illegal means to resist the dissolution of his executive.
The CDA boss appealed to Edo State Governor , Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to prevail on the police not to treat the arrest with kid gloves as the community had severely been harassed unpunished by the embattled youth Chairman.
The vice chairman of the embattled youth Chairman, Mr.  Roland Ogbomon said the attack was also aimed at eliminating him.
He alleged that if not the presence of policemen he would have been assassinated by the armed thugs as he was seen as a possible successor to Julius Idemudia.
This came barely a month after youths of Ofunmwengbe and Okponha communities in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State shot themselves over boundary dispute.
