BENIN CITY – The Edo State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has advised the public, especially land developers to be wary of the mischievous activities of some renegades impersonating as members of the State Task Force on illegal Structures and Building Development to defraud unsuspecting building developers under the guise of enforcing the Ministry’s mandate.

This was contained in a statement from the office of the Chairman, Edo State Task Force on illegal Structures and Building Development, Prince Udo Shaka-Momodu and signed by its Secretary, Mr. Ayamenkhue Edokpolor.

According to the statement, the impostors usually used the popular ‘Tuke-Tuke’ bus as means of transport to carry out their nefarious tendencies.

The Chairman further explained, “For the avoidance of doubt, the genuine Task Force members do carry out their assignment with the use of the Ministry’s Hilux Vans, armed with their identity cards as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on Housing and Urban Development.”

The Chairman however enjoined the public and Security Agents to be at alert and apprehend anyone found impersonating the Task Force.
He expressed the State government commitment to rid  the state of illegal structures.
