BENIN CITY-The Commissioner of Police in Edo State Mr. Chris Ezike has charged residents of Benin City on community policing in order to identify and arrest the few criminals who live in our neighbourhood.
Mr. Chris Ezike gave the charge during his familiarization visits to New Benin and Okhoro police divisions, yesterday.
He sued for robust partnership with the police to confront crime and criminality in Benin City.
COMPOL Ezike however assured of police commitment to providing adequate security of lives and property in the state.
He lauded efforts of the Divisional Police Officers of New Benin and Okhoro, SP Jubril Abdullahi and DSP Wales Olumagba, respectively at reducing crime in their domains to the barest minimum.
DSP Wales Olumagba of Okhoro thanked residents of his division for their support and cooperation which he noted have made policing more proactive and result-orientated.
He listed some of the division’s recent achievements to include the arrest of five and killings of two armed robbery suspects as well as recovery of arms, ammunition, property belonging to their victims.
The community head Odiowere Pa Idiagbonya Omo-Igbinomwanhia, Vice chairman of Police Community Relations Committee, Okhoro Pastor Edorodion Peter commended the DPO and his operatives for making the area a hot bed for criminals and their agents.
