BENIN CITY – It was pandemonium and confusion at Ekosodin Community three days ago when two youngmen Kayode Useni and Osaro Izobo were allegedly caught in acts of homosexuality by neigbours who raised alarm that attracted a large crowd at Ekosodin area in Benin City.
The mob who were irked by their alleged homosexual acts which is a crime and taboo in the country, started beating them. They were beaten pulp and blue.
According to sources, Oseni have been involved in several cases of homosexuality and was once banished for the act.
The mob that pounced on the gay partners drove the first batch of police that came to rescue the youngmen from being killed, until reinforcement came but it was unfortunate for Osaro who was burnt alive by the mob, while Kayode was rescued and taken to the police station.
It would be recalled that sometimes in late 2012, Kayode Oseni and one Clement. E. Imhandegbelo were also caught in homosexual acts in Benin City.
Both of them were declared wanted by the police and the community for their abominable acts.
The increasing rate of homosexuality in the country is now a cause of concern to the generality of the people.
It was gathered the Clement E. Imhandegbeto whose homosexual act had led to his mother, Mrs. Imhandegbelo been banished from their home town in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.
In Nigeria, homosexuality is a criminal offence, muslims, christians and traditionalists, abhor the sinful and unnatural act of Sodomy. It is considered an abomination and taboo.
In most communities, the culprits are made to perform sacrifices before they are killed. Some are banished from the community with their family and there houses are burnt or destroyed . While Kayode Oseni who is lucky to escape death from the hands of the mob that attacked them, he will face a fourteen year jail term when prosecuted and found gulty. Clement whose whereabouts is still unknown is wanted to pay for his abominable acts.
