BENIN CITY – The Edo House of Assembly on Monday set up an adhoc committee to investigate an alleged misappropriation of funds by the Akoko-Edo local government chairman, Mr Akeredolu Folunrunsho.
The adhoc committee was set up to investigate the alleged misappropriation of fund by the Akoko-Edo council chairman following a petition written and signed by one Mr Bello Sunday to the House of Assembly.
The four-man Adhoc committee would be headed by the chief wip of the house, Mr Sunday Aghedo, member representing Ovia Southwest constituency.
The House also during the session passed a resolution ratifying the removal of Etsako West local government chairman, Mr Alhassan Mohammed from Office for misconduct
The house resolution was sequel to a request letter sent to the house by governor, Adams Oshiomhole requesting the house to pass a resolution to ratify the removal of the council chairman.
Also, the House received a request letter from the governor requesting the screening and confirmation of Mr Thomas Oshoke, Gideon Obakhai and Joseph Okojie as commissioner nominees in the state.
