Tottenham Hotspur have been identified as the English Premier League club who are leading the chase for Nigeria U17 striker Victor Osimhen, who tops the goals chart at the U17 World Cup in Chile with nine goals.

Representatives of side Spurs have contacted Osimhen’s Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos, according to The Daily Mail.

Osimhen’s all-action style is likened to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, who incidentally the youngster idolizes.

The big centre-forward has scored in all of Nigeria’s six games at the World Cup in Chile including hat-trick in a Round of 16 clash against Australia.

His nine goals have already equaled the previous all-time record at this competition.

Two years ago, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Yahaya were signed up by English clubs with Yahaya reportedly heading off to Spurs and he is now expected to sign a professional contract with the London club when he clocks 18 in December.
