BENIN CITY-A 51 year-old woman has allegedly been beating to death by a commercial bus driver and his conductor in Benin City.

This came hours after a grandmother was reportedly butchered by her grandson over alleged refusal to allow him collect rent from his late mother’s story building in Benin City.

It was gathered that the victim identified as Mrs Helen Eros was a passenger in the Tuketuke suspected to be plying New Benin-Ugbowo axis when the unfortunate incident occurred about 9pm, last Saturday.

An altercation over N20 change said to have ensured between her and the bus conductor came to anti-climax when the driver allegedly pulled over given the conductor space to hit her with a spanner.

It was gathered that the bus driver and his conductor immediately took the woman in their vehicle when she fainted but dumped her corpse on a walk-way by Eghosa Grammar School as they escaped.

The Public Relations Officer for Edo Police Command DSP Osifo Abiodun said police have intensified a manhunt for the fleeing driver and his conductor.

He added that the corpse of the woman has been deposited in a mortuary in Benin City.
