The Okao of Idughiamwen quarters in Ikhueniro Community in Ohunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State Chief Famous Obozigue and one Osaro Ignineweka have been arrested for allegedly killing a businessman in a brothel at Ikhueniro Community.

The businessman, Godwin Aimufua, 35 it was gathered, allegedly died from the wound he sustained when his head was hit with a plank during a fight that ensued between him and the auto engineer in the brothel.

Chief Famous Obozigue was said to have taken the victim to the spot to be specially hosted as his special guest, that fateful day.

It was scooped that the Chief and his guest, the victim, ordered for some bottles of beer as soon as they settled in the joint.

The duo was alleged to have been provoked when they were not served shortly after making their request.

It was further learnt that the businessman got up and demanded to know from the bar attendant why they have not be served.

The deceased on realizing that the auto engineer who they met in bar was being attended to by the bar attendant, he allegedly accused and slapped him for having the guts to engage the bar attendant when the Chief was waiting to be served.

It was alleged further that Chief Famous Obozigue on seeing his guest and the auto engineer fighting, picked a plank and in an attempt to hit the auto engineer, struck his friend’s head, instead.

Chief Famous Obozigue, 35 denied involvement in the fight maintained that the auto engineer Osaro Ignineweka hit his guest with a plank during a fracas that ensued between them in the bar.

“I am a palace chief, traditional ruler, Enogie, the Okoa of Idughiamwen Community in Ikhueniro.

“The bar man did not come in time, my friend went inside the bar to collect the beer from the bar man, I don’t know what happened inside between my friend and the bar man and one other boy (Osaro Ignineweka).

“The next thing was I fight between my friend and the boy inside the cell (Osaro Igbineweka), the next thing I saw was that the boy ran out and picked a stick and hitted (sic) it on my friend’s head.

“I quickly rushed my friend to the hospital”. Chief Obozigue stated.

The auto engineer, Osaro Igbineweka, 27 said he was waiting to collect his change from the bar attendant when suddenly the deceased accused and attacked him for daring to interrupt the serving of Chief Onozigue.

“Enogie break bottle take pursue the girls wey dey make them nor kill me. They dragged me come outside begin they beat me”. Osaro stated.

He however alleged that while his beating continued outside the brothel, Enogie picked up a plank.

He added that in an attempt for Enogie to hit the plank on his head, he moved his head away as the plank landed on his friend’s (the deceased) head.

When our crime reporter visited the scene, Corner Rest Guest House, Benin-Agbor Road, Ikhueniro Community, last Friday, young girls suspected to be call-girls milled around the premises in a seductive posture.

The girls probably mistook our crime reporter who was on a fact-finding mission in the brothel, for a fun seeker.

The Chief Executive officer of the guest house said though he did witness the incident, but his manager called him that night lamenting that his nephew Chief Famous Obozigue and his friend were about to kill a costumer in the premises.

He stated that he ordered his manager to push them out of the premises as the Chief has record of fighting in the guest house.

Elder brother of the deceased Mr Bright Aimufua appealed to the police and relevant authorities to ensure that whoever killed his brother is made to face the full wrath of the law.

He revealed that the victim who was buried last week left behind a wife two children.

The Public Relations Officer for Edo Police Command DSP Abiodun Osifo said the two suspects would soon be charged to court for murder.
