The authorities of the Nigerian Police, Edo State Police Command and Muslim family of Alhaji Yakubu, have declared, a middle-aged mechanic, Frank Taiwo, wanted over his alleged complicity in the death of his Muslim lover, Aisha Yakubu arising from self-inflicted abortion carried out to terminate her pregnancy, just as Lorry Truck owners, have also fingered him and his friend, Andrew, over the burning of their lorry trucks in their mechanic workshop.
It would be recalled that trouble started with Frank Taiwo, when in two weeks ago (on the 2nd of December 2015) was informed by his deceased lover, that was after her father, Alhaji Yakubu, had hitherto visited his workshop, to warn him to desist from scouting around his daughter, forthwith to stop the sexual reelationship and that it was against their Muslim religion doctrine for a Muslim faithful to be going out with a Christian, that she was pregnant for him.
A situation which made the said Christian lover to become apprehensive, especially in view of several threats and intimidations, the father of the Muslim lover had unleashed on him if he fails to relinquish his relationship with his daughter.
Speaking to Journalists, a maternal uncle to Frank Taiwo, Mr. Otaniyen, who recounted the trauma the death of the Muslim girl had caused his family, said that he is a brother to the mother of Frank Taiwo and that when the news of getting the girl pregnant brokered to them, they were working out modalities to see the parents for proper marriage planning, a meeting scheduled for 6th December 2015, but said that unfortunately, the deceased lover, who became afraid of the possible reaction of her dad, if he got to known, took an abortion pills, even without the knowledge and notice of her lover, Frank Taiwo and the issue became complicated as she was rushed to the hospital where she died on the 4th of December 2015.
The source said that the death of the Muslim girl never gone down well with her father, hence he threatened to avenge the death of his daughter by either killing her Christian lover, Frank Taiwo, or influencing him to be jailed for daring him and as such, Alhaji Yakubu conspicuously reported a case of alleged rape and forceful abortion occasioning death against him and the police in swift reaction, after much thorough investigation, declared him wanted since it is a criminal offence to procure abortion in Nigeria.
He added that as if the police action against the said Frank Taiwo was not enough, the father of the deceased lover who vowed to avenge the death of his daughter, ceaselessly recruited thugs in collaboration with the owners of the burnt lorry trucks which the said Frank Taiwo and his friend, Andrew, were repairing at their workshop before the workshop was gutted by fire suspected to have been executed by the thuigs, started trailing them to kill or imprisoned them, especially Frank Taiwo, whom they tagged as their main target.
Otaniyen stressed that having escaped several assassination attempts, he (Frank Taiwo) who is the eldest son to his parents, have to run for his dear life, especially when it became absolutely clear that his mother is left to absorb all the responsibilities of the family, after his father, a serving army officer, left for a peace- keeping Mission in Liberia in 2003, did not return home despite all efforts, an indication that he might have been killed.
He said that the escape of Frank Taiwo became infuriating to the extent that the police had declared in wanted and urged the members of the public to give any useful information which may lead to his arrest and prosecution.
