In recent times in Nigeria, the wave of man’s inhumanity to man has attained a worrisome dimension as hardly a day goes by without news about the menace breaking in the society.

The atrocities by members of these occult groups as it relates to succession of deceased member are prevalent in every nooks and crannies of our society such that their deeds are wrecklessly perpetuated and displayed in all the spheres of human existence in Nigeria..

Painfully, there is inhumanity to man in every strata of our corporate existence from churches, mosques, market places, schools, government, sports, and many others facets of life.

However, section 36-39 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution guarantees the right and freedom to life, association and worship without any form of duress.

In view of the above mentioned, it is so disheartening to know that churches harbour hatreds for fellow members for merely deciding to leave their place of worship to other churches .

Meanwhile, this pathetic situation is not only perculiar to life in the churches but also to other places of worship including group or association whose membership is merely supposed to be voluntary by choice.

It is common to see nowadays days a situation whereby a group under the guise of fraternity go after deceased members whose surviving children are opposed to replacing a former deceased member .

The growing menace is very prevalent in Nigeria to the extent that there is hardly a day without the sad tales of others ( children of deceased members ) being forced into occultic association by succession.

A case in point is the family of one Isaac Elijah whose deceased father, a member of the Reformed Ogboni Confraternity who was gruesomely murdered by armed policemen and Nigerian army on December 2nd 2015 during a protest organized by IPOB.
.
It was gathered that following the death of Agbolor Isaac, his son was instructed to replace his late father’s deceased membership in the occult group.

The surviving son was required by the Constitution of the Reformed Ogboni Confraternity to replace his late father’s membership, a development which was strongly opposed by Isaac Elijah owing to his Christian faith.

It was learnt that owing to repeated use of violence in persuading Isaac Elijah, the surviving son of the deceased member to accept membership of his late father’s role in the occult group, he was compelled to escape from the community in a desperate efforts to avoid incurring the wrath of the occult group.

The series of life threatening attacks by the dreaded occult groups on the life of Isaac Elijah, according to recent findings in the community, have been given as the reasons for other extended members of the deceased Agbolor Isaac to abandon their respective house as their rights to life was no longer guaranteed in the face growing threats by members of the occult group.

Recently, not relenting in their avowed determination to wipe out the members of the family of Isaac Elijah from the surface of the earth, the members of the occult group allegedly invaded the community with dangerous weapons with the intent to kill Isaac Elijah.

However, the safety of Isaac Elijah or his whereabouts could not be ascertained by the people as at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, many families have also suffered similar safe fate with Isaac Elijah and are secretly lamenting over the possible outcome of their fate in the hands of these blood-thirsty occult groups.

Consequently, the Federal Government and other International communities must come to the rescue of these innocent Nigerians whose fundamental human rights are being abused/violated by members of these violent occultic groups
