Governor Adams Oshiomhloe of Edo State has reiterated the need to provide development projects for the people rather than to distribute rice for them once in four years.
Governor Oshiomhole who was speaking on Wednesday during his inspection tour of the road reconstruction and dualization project at the Second East Circular Road and the massive ultra-modern Central Hospital, Complex in Benin City said it was good for government to remain focused.
Reassuring the people, Oshiomhole said, “You can see we are doing a good job. We are expanding the road here because of the market so that whatever happens, the traffic will flow and we are going to put street light so that the road will also be well lit.
I believe we all know that building roads that you will drive on, your husbands will drive on it, your children will drive on it and your grand children will drive on it. Is it not better than distributing rice once in four years? So, we must ensure we remain focus. Even after ,my tenure, the next governor must continue to work because as they say, government will come and go but the people will remain. Thank you so much for you support and prayers.
While Governor Oshiomhole was on inspection at the Second East Circular Road, the residents of the area received the Governor with spontaneous cheers, and showered him with commendations, praises and prayers.
Appraising the effort of the Governor, the Odionwere of Uwa Street, Off Second East Circular Road, Mr. Andrew Osunde said, “God will bless you and give you good life and prosperity. Your enemies will not see you back and you will continue to excel.”
One of the traders in Osa Market along Second East Circular Road said, Mr. Aighobahi Esosa said: “Mr. Comrade, we appreciate your good work sir. You have been a good governor in this state. For many years, we know that this road had been in a way that the road was before, but today, we see a new development. This road is being expanded. A friend of mine called me from Europe and I told him we are working here and he said, how can we expand this road and I said, come and see with your own eyes.
Sir, I want to say a very big thank you. The lord will be your strength. You will move from glory to glory and from height to height. In the new election, APC will retain the state, not by power, not by grievances but by the good works and excellence which your administration has portrayed. Thank you sir.”
