LAGOS – The neighbourhood of Ikota Housing Estate, Ajah, Lagos State have been enveloped with violent altercations and threats to life following the sudden death of a six-year-old boy, Junior (popularly called Kekere) after consuming food gifted to him by a neighbour.

The family of the deceased said Osas Prince allegedly killed their son with poisoning, claiming that he had used their child for ritual purposes.

According to reports, Osas Prince who is a Kitchen staff with a private company (name withheld), had on  December 20, 2015 gifted a neighbor’s child, named Junior some portion of his breakfast and left for work, according to our source, to honour an urgent call from his manager in the office.

“Some few hours later, he was called that the child he gave some food to has been rushed to the hospital and was reported dead while receiving treatment”, the source said.

The mother of the deceased, Hajia however, described the alleged killing of Junior as very painful and callous, insisting that Osas Prince must taste the same thing he did to her son for Justice to be served. Osas must suffer the consequences of killing my child for ritual purposes”, she said.

“This is festive period. Other parents bought Christmas clothing for their children for the Christmas and New Year festivities. The one we bought for Junior is inside and I cannot see my Junior forever” the mother sobbed.

Hajia described Junior to be a very friendly child, innocent and quiet, saying that Osas Prince cannot kill her son and be left to go scot-free. We must kill Osas Prince in return, she concluded.

Contacted, Inspector Bhadmus Folamike, officer-in-charge of the matter explained that the matter is under investigation as there is need to carry out autopsy to ascertain the cause of Junior’s death.

As at the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts of Osas Prince could not be ascertained as sources close to him said he has gone into hiding to avoid persistent violent attacks and becoming victim of jungle justice.
