BENIN CITY – The life of a young man, named Collins Omigie is now in danger as a result of cult-related activities now raging in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Collins Omigie’s father Pa Omigie, a staunch member of Ogboni Confraternity, one of the leading cult bodies in the state had been bed-ridden for over one year and his colleagues in the confraternity believe he will not survive the sickness to enable him continue his role in the cult, and so ordered him to introduce his senior son (Collins Omigie) to the cult as his successor if he (Pa Omigie) finally dies.
The cult members now approached Collins Omigie, inviting him for initiation into the Ogboni Confraternity. But, Collins Omigie, a devout Christian, turned down the invitation which was against his Christian faith.
The cult members did not rest on their oars as they constantly visited him with series of threats to his life for his refusal to join the cult.
Collins Omigie, it was gathered was now living in fear. When he could no longer bear the heat, he had to run away from home on December 30, 2015 to an unknown destination.
However, family sources disclosed that the cult members had since intensified their efforts to fish out Collins Omigie.
