BENIN CITY-The Edo Police Command has resorted to divine assistance in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.

This followed a re-dedication service held for men and officers of the Command at the police headquarters in Benin City, yesterday.

The prayer session attracted Christians, Muslim and traditional leaders as well as senior police officers.

In a sermon taken from 1-Chronicles 19:2, the Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Edo State, Bishop Monday Igbinosa emphasized the significance of love amongst police officers in the course of protecting lives and property.

He admonished officers to use their offices to honour God just as he charged members of the public show respect to security personnel.

Also, the Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque Alhaji Abdul Fatah Enabulele urged government and members of the public to do more to appreciate the police for better service delivery.

The President, Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Peter Imasuen presided over the anointing and re-dedication sessions of the service.

Earlier, the state Commissioner of Police Mr Chris Ezike expressed gratitude to God for being there for the command.

CP Ezike however urged operatives of the command to be close and committed to almighty God.
