AGBOR – The rate of cult activities and its continuous effect on our higher institutions in the country has become too worrisome and too much a problem for government to curtail.

Particularly, the crisis and substances always left behind by inter-cult wars and forceful initiation of innocent children and citizens in the various schools is posing a very big problem in thesociety.

Even the menace is already spreading to the junior and senior secondary schools and motor parks, where touts always hide under the guise of cult, arming themselves to destroy, rob, violently molest and even highjack any peaceful protest to become bloody.

This time, the story has been reported about a young man, Ika indigene, from Agbor, Ashofor Eminence Sunday, in his mid-twenties and a 2015 graduate of College of Education Agbor, Delta State, on the run for his dear life for refusing to be initiated into the cult on campus.

According to a very reliable source, who spoke to our Delta State Correspondent, the life of the young man has been continuously threatened for refusing to join them in the dreaded and deadly Neo- Black Movement, also known as the “Black Axe”. He said the whole problems started way back, while Eminence Ashofor was in his final year 2014in school. He was approached severally to join them, an offer he always rejected as aChristian.
On one fateful day, he was violently attacked by the cult members on his way to the school. He was severely dealt with, stabbed at the back of his neck, bleeding profusely almost losing his life, until he had to promise signing an undertaking to pay them the sum of Eight thousand dollars ($8,000) alternatively under tense duress, before he was left off the hook in the pool of his blood. They also warned him that if he refuses to oblige, the very next attack would be to end his life for toying with them. He then went to the Central Hospital in Benin City, Edo State for medical attention, from where he escaped.

Eventually, the young innocent Eminence Ashofor, managed to play hide and seek game with them, until he finally graduated in December 2015 and immediately left the school. When it was then obvious to the cultists that their target has rounded up and escaped, they then intensified their dragnet to his family houseat No.7 Agbor-Obi Road, Agbor not knowing he has escaped to Benin City.

Then, one cool evening, some of the cultists stormed the family house at about 8:30 p.m. They attacked all the occupants of the house they could lay hands on, including his aged father, Pa Ashofor Lawrence, dealt mercilessly with them.  They left after all in anger of not seeing their main target and vowed to get him dead or alive, anywhere found in the country for not redeeming his pledge with them.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that some time ago the same members of Black Axe in a reprisal attack when they had issue with another rival cult, Eiye confraternity in College of Education, Ekiadolor, Benin killed one of their co-student rival cult member, cut off his head and went to hang it on a wood at the school gate. Up till now, the perpetrators have not been brought to book, because most senior members of the police force are also members too

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) of Agbor-Obi Divisional Head-Quarters, DSP Bola Osunde confirmed the incident, saying the police has already commenced investigation on the matter. But the DPO however concluded that the where about of the targeted Ashofor Eminence is still unknown, while an unconfirmed source also has it that he was sighted somewhere around Ikpoba Hill axis in Benin City recently.

Up till now nobody can really tell where Eminence Sunday Ashofor is nor even heard of nor sighted anywhere, either by family members, friends or neighbors around while the family members are still hiding for fear of the unexpected and unknown.
