benin city – Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has tasked members of the performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Edo State Chapter to use their music to educate the people or the need to keep Edo State clean at all times.
Governor Oshiomhole gave the advice when the executive and members of PMAN in Edo State led by its President Idown Moye (aka Maleke) paid him a courtesy visit in Benin City yesterday.
“I went you to use your instrument of music. To educate people to sweep our environment even the street to keep them clean,” he said.
“How much do we spend to build reads? How much do we spend to sweep road? So help us to educate the people.”
“Help us to keep Benin City clean with your music. As the people dance to the music, they get the message.
While assuring the Edo PMAN that he would direct the state Commissioner for Lands and Survey to go and inspect the land in the area of its choice where could get vast land to locate its proposed entertainment village, Governor Oshiomhole, who commended ace musician, Ambassador Osayomore Joseph for not playing music to attract monetary gratification, also thanked members of PMAN in the state for their support for his election and administration.
Earlier, the President of the performing Musician Association of Nigeria, Idowu Moye disclosed that their visit was to appreciate Governor Oshiomhole for the laudable infrastructural development he has achieved in Edo State and to formally unveil the proposed entertainment village to be built on 40 hectors of land either an the outskirt of Ekenwand road or Ikhuenis on Benin by-pass.
He explained that two commercial banks were willing to fund the proposed project and that Edo PMAN would want Governor Oshiomhole to lay the foundation.
