BENIN CITY-The Commissioner of Police in Edo State Mr Chris Ezike has charged the newly promoted traffic Wardens in the state to use their promotions to add value to traffic management which he said needs more commitment in the state.

CP Ezike stated this yesterday during official decoration of 222 traffic Wardens of Edo Police Command promoted by the Inspector-General of Police Mr Solomon Arase in line with his welfare package, recently.

“Traffic management in Edo State is not yet uhuru, it is still work in progress.

“I want to encourage you to use your new status to add value to traffic management in Edo State.

“You most therefore show the difference that now you are happy, Edo people should be happier for it.

“As they have given to you, you should must give quality service in return”. CP Ezike stated.

The state police boss enjoined the officers to do their job with dignity and integrity at all times just as he advised them to abhor extortion.

He disclosed that 116 officers were promoted from Senior Traffic Warden (STW) to Assistant Superintendent of Traffic (AST).

While 15 were promoted to Senior Traffic Warden (STW), two got Traffic Warden Grade 1 and 89 officers were elevated to Traffic Warden Grade 2.

Some of the officers thanked the IGP Solomon Arase for his magnanimity disclosing that they were last promoted over 15 years ago.

Amongst the officers were Owotorusa Joel, Sunday Eigbadon and Columbus Igberaese.
